7:15 - Two Dances for Tonight's Party.  This is one of the advantages of the DJ also being the dance teacher!  These dances are quick and easy, and will include the premiere of the Tango of Tears Mixer, with music from Final Fantasy VII.

8pm - A Variety of Dips, Lunges and Endings.  Richard will teach a dozen different ways to finish a dance with flair, with dips, spins, wraps and flourishes in waltz, cross-step waltz, tango and more. Richard last taught these variations at FNW eleven years ago, in 2014. Were you there? No? Here's your chance!

These are ALL-LEVELS CLASSES, no previous experience required.

For those who don't know about Richard Powers, he is one of the world's foremost experts in social dance. He has taught dance in Paris, London, Rome, Venice, Prague, Vienna, Geneva, Seville, Edinburgh, Krakow, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tokyo and Kyoto, including 29 workshops in France (teaching in French), 28 in Japan (teaching in Japanese), and 22 in Russia (not teaching in Russian). Richard is currently the full-time social dance instructor at Stanford University.

The Academy of Danse Libre is one of the nation's premier vintage dance groups. They are dedicated to bringing the historic ballroom to the modern audience through their recreation of dances from the 19th and early 20th centuries. They will be performing choreographies inspired by the dances of the Jazz Age.
